Bartender
From my application to the Grand Marnier and Navan Mixology Summit:
Your current place of work
Marjorie Seattle, WA
How would you define your style as a mixologist?
Creating drinks that are at once both a new experience and familiar. Using the works of the masters as a stepping stone from which I push the boundaries of presentation and flavor in creative ways.
Why should you be selected?
Because I want to add to the corpus of knowledge that is the art of mixology. Because I have a passionate love for this trade and its rich history. Because this profession needs more people who really care about creating new classics for future generations to enjoy. Because I represent a new school of mixologist that devoutly studies the works of those that came before me; that loves finding new and interesting ways to present their classics; that passionately strives to find ways to innovate and create new classics; that seeks to preserve the integrity of the ingredients; that reaches out to others in the trade and fosters good will amongst all bartenders; that seeks to educate others and expose the beauty of a finely-crafted cocktail to a rather naive world.
